Quick quick. This one’s for publishing. I was hoping this would get more animal involvement than it did. The story is about Weylyn Grey, who is raised by wolves and has magic powers to control the weather. He also has a special connection with animals. But none of the animals are particularly memorable. There’s Merlin, the pig with the strange horn on his head, who is kind of … well he likes eating.
Merlin is like most of the characters, none of whom is particularly striking. The book suffers from having too many of them in the first place, but even the ones with significant presence are somewhat trite. The writing is also a little adolescent. It’s clogged with mundanities and beats you over the head a bit. Anyway mis seal ikka.
